A Legacy of Kindness

Benefactor Lawrence H. Schmieding identified the need for competent, compassionate caregivers and specialized geriatric services while providing care for an aging family member who chose to remain at home.

Mr. Schmieding contacted the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, home to one of the nation's foremost geriatric programs, and established the Schmieding Center for Senior Health and Education, a program of the Arkansas Aging Initiative.

SCSHE is in partnership with the following:
